An overall master plan covers the Hobsonville Point Project. Guided by the master plan, each area is planned and designed in more detail and the required consents are applied for from Auckland Council. Comprehensive Development Plan Consents covering the Buckley and Buckley B Precincts, and the Sunderland Precinct are in place and planning is now underway for The Landing, Village and Catalina Precincts.
Each consent identifies locations for residential, educational, retail, and other non-residential activities within the area. The proposed locations for neighbourhood parks, reserves, walkways and cycleways, bus stops and the main road network are also identified. The CDPs for Buckley and Sunderland include development controls, such as building heights, setbacks and site coverage. These development controls are set out in detail in the BUCKLEY HOBSONVILLE CDP - FINAL AND REVISED CONSENT CONDITIONS and Sunderland CDP documents.

Buckley A
The Buckley A Precinct is underway now. It is in the mid-western section of the development and is being developed in partnership with our development partner AVJennings. It includes a mixture of high quality, warm, healthy and energy efficient stand-alone, terrace houses and apartments to cater for a diverse community. A percentage of more affordable homes are delivered under our Axis Series brand.
The Buckley A precinct includes the Hobsonville Point Primary School, HOBSONVILLE POINT PARK with a fantastic playground, creative landscaping, a wetland and even a community orchard. The Catalina Café is next door and so is the vibrant Hobsonville Point Farmers Market. On Station Street there is a village of show homes and the Project Information Centre, open 10am to 4pm daily. The Catalina Café is the perfect place to come for great food and coffee and to find out more about this exciting new community.
The first homes are available for purchase now. Not only will these new homes perfectly complement the surroundings and be environmentally considerate, all homes will be built to design guidelines to ensure consistency of quality, yet innovative in character. For more information, CLICK HERE.
The Landing
The Landing will be the coastal gateway for the site, providing for a range of activities, including recreational facilities for the public. A ferry service to downtown Auckland is available and over time the Landing will develop into a vibrant area, featuring cafes, restaurants, residential and commercial activities and public open space.
Sunderland
Sunderland comprises the northern coastal edge and eastern coastal headland area, from the Catalina Café to the character houses surrounding the Marlborough Oval. The Comprehensive Development Plan approved by Auckland Council for this area, focuses on retaining and building on the significant heritage features of this area. Beautiful old wooden homes will be retained and several Air-force era buildings will be reused as community, commercial or residential buildings. The area includes many mature trees and coastal views that give Sunderland a unique character. Development will get under way in this precinct in the current year and homes will likely be available in 2015. You can access a copy of the Sunderland Comprehensive Development Plan here.
Buckley B
The Buckley B Precinct is part of the area covered by the Buckley Comprehensive Development Plan and is similar in nature to Buckley A which is currently under way. The Hobsonville Point Secondary School is located in Buckley B and is due to open in February 2014.
Catalina
Catalina is likely to be developed towards the end of the project. The coastal edge and large open spaces are available in the interim for recreational activities.
Village
The Village Precinct is adjacent to the existing Hobsonville shops. Planning for the Village Precinct is in the early stages and will be influenced by developments on the other side of Hobsonville Road. It is likely that the Village Precinct will be mixed use in nature, including a mix of retail, commercial, community and residential uses.
