In this months newsletter we share the exciting news about plans for apartments and a retirement village at Hobsonville Point. There's a number of events to look forward to in the coming months - the Hobsonville Point Runway Challenge on Sunday 26 May, and our very first Matariki Festival on 12 July which we are hoping to make an annual community event, so please do support it. We are about to embark on a busy planting season, so if you want to join in, we tell you how. There's also great news of electricity consumption at Hobsonville Point being well below Auckland's average use.

Hobsonville Point Farmers Market provides community focus
Hobsonville Point’s farmers market will be open this weekend tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday as usual. The market is open each weekend from 9am to 1pm.
While our thoughts remain first and foremost with those who have lost loved ones, and those with damage to their homes, we felt it was important to keep the market open if we could as a valuable community focal point.
Collection boxes will be set up at the market to collect donations for the families of the workers who were victims of Thursday’s weather event at the construction site for the new High School. Visitors to the Catalina Café or any of the show homes at Hobsonville Point can also make donations. The collection boxes will collect funds until Christmas. Hobsonville Land Company will make an initial donation of $6,000.

Clean up begins at Hobsonville Point
Our thoughts are with the families and colleagues of the men who lost their lives on the secondary school construction site during yesterday's tragic accident. Our immediate focus is on supporting our partners Hawkins Construction and the Defence Force in the wake of the tragic events.
We have started assessing damage to those parts of Hobsonville Point that we are responsible for and at this stage it looks like damage is relatively minor in that area.
We will post an update on the situation later today.
