Location & transport
Public transport is proposed for the area with a focus on reducing and managing traffic flows. As well, walkable connections to local shops and schools and employment will reduce the need for families to have more than one car. The Hobsonville Land Company is working closely with the Auckland Transport Authority to develop the most effective public transport systems for the new community.
Buses
There will be new frequent bus services connecting west to Westgate and east to Albany, a local bus services to Westgate is already in place and this will connect to the new ferry terminal in spring 2012.
Ferrys
The ferry service is planned from spring 2012. It will connect Hobsonville Point to downtown Auckland. The frequency will increase as the population on the site builds up.
Vehicles
Hobsonville Point is accessible from SH 18 via the Squadron Drive off-ramp coming from the north and via the Brighams Creek Road off-ramp coming from the west. It takes approximately 25 min to and from the city off-peak.
